Great analysis of the lead-up to Bape’s recent sale to Hong Kong based I.T. After simultaneous store openings in Shanghai and Beijing, it’s clear that I.T. is putting its money on Chinese consumers being Bape’s last remaining ace. Maybe a sign of things to come as China also just overtook Japan as the World’s 2nd largest economy.

“Users can view their friends’ profile video and easily upload their own videos. Each profile video, generated by the app, ends with a short message which simply says ‘Powered by Flip’. In effect, the app has successfully created a personalized ad with guaranteed views.” Simple, clever and useful, by DDB Singapore. I’m surprised no one thought of it before.
